Wigging out

(via thornbird)

So, since I'm dying my hair blue soon (sorry mom), I decided I need to buy a wig to wear to work (even though it's only going to be part time).  People here in the South aren't too accepting of different people.  In fact, I'm not sure if I've even seen anyone with funky colored hair in Birmingham.
Anyways, that brings me to my wig-buying adventure.  I went to an ethnic store that has a huge selection and pretty much told them I wanted something fairly natural and inexpensive.  I found one and went home to try it on.  Now, maybe it's just because I haven't had dark hair in like 10 years, but I looked pretty ridiculous with black hair.  It's a curly wig, and when I brush it out it almost looks like my naturally curly hair.  But it's definitely not something I want to wear in public OR post a picture of on here.
So, I ended up purchasing the wig above.  I'm hoping it will look very natural on me.  It's almost exactly the same length as my natural hair.
Anyone else have any experience with wigs?  Any advice?

  1. The wig you ended up purchasing (pictured) looks like it will be great. The bangs were smart; it's best to go for bangs if you can't purchase a lace front wig..looks more natural. :) Is it synthetic? If you have any questions when you receive it, feel free to shout at me..I work w/ wigs on a regular basis. :D

I can't wait to see your blue hair! I want to go lavender so badly..mayhaps someday. :)

    1. Thanks Sara! I believe it's made out of something called Japanese silk? We'll see how it looks!
