So, when I picked the name "The Quiet Owl" back in 2008 for my Etsy shop, I wasn't doing it to be trendy or anything. I seriously love owls (or any bird of prey for that matter, but especially owls). That's why I just about died when I saw this little fellow in my front yard. He's a barred owl, and he was not at all impressed by me getting right up under him taking pictures. I thought for sure he'd fly away as soon as I walked outside, but he stayed put. In fact, he's been there for well over an hour and I've just been sitting in front of my office window just staring at him. I really hope he makes my yard his new home! I love him!
Ahh! So cool!
ReplyDeleteI see owls on the light posts while on the high way sometimes. I am always so impressed with them.
They are such cute little creatures.
Oh my gosh!!! You're so lucky to have gotten so close!!! I have an owl tattoo that I think people view as "trendy" but my grandma collected owls, I collect owls and most of the cool people I know collect owls. They're awesome and the trendier the better because then they're everywhere!! I love your blog name :D And I love your new owl friend!!!
ReplyDeleteOh you got some great shot of him. He is a pretty one.
ReplyDeleteDon't you love when something you love a lot, like an animal becomes a trend, then you can find it everywhere!
I actually am glad a little bit, because I still buy about half the owl stuff I see!
DeleteI think in about a year or two maybe the owl stuff will die down, people will get sick of it... then they'll all be on sale!
DeleteI think owls are one of the most beautiful animals. I got to see some really pretty ones when we went to Animal Kingdom at Disney. It's nothing like seeing one in your back yard!!!! I hope he stays also, I want to see more photos of him. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG! So cute!!!!!! I can't believe he let you get so close to him! I hope he makes your yard his home too! Keep updates on that! That would be rad!
ReplyDeleteIn other owl news, that is my cat Zappa's nickname. "The owl or little owl" cause he turns his head so far and his face looks like an owl to me.
Waaaaaaaay cool. I love owls too, but I've never seen one other than at the zoo.
ReplyDeletelucky day today!
