Scale hate

So I weighed myself last night for the first time in a while.  I was feeling pretty good about it, until I got on.  I've gain even more weight.  I will admit that while we had company this past week, I didn't exactly eat healthy.  But seriously, I've got to get off my lazy butt and start shedding some of these pounds.  I have no excuse not to get in shape, so I need to just do it!

What have you done to get in shape?  Any advice would be more than welcome!

  1. Agggh. Trying to lose weight sucks! About a year ago, I quit drinking anything but water (and I used to ONLY drink cokes). I lost weight at first, but I've recently realized my cravings for sweet foods intensified and that caused me to just gain that weight (plus a few pounds) back. Now I'm back to trying to lose it. I've cut back significantly on fried foods and I'm running or biking everyday as of this past Sunday. (Baby steps!)

    1. I know. I love sweets too. I've tried having smoothies of various kinds for lunch and it seems to be helping my cravings.
BTW I love your blog design!!!

  2. Ah, thanks! It's a work in process, haha. Smoothies seem like a great idea to help with sweets cravings. Now if I could figure out how to make a brownie flavored smoothie...(actually, that sounds kind of gross!)

  3. I think smoothies are a great choice, also eating more fiber helps me feel fuller longer. I hate exercising more than anything so I usually try to cut back on what I eat instead of getting active (I know I should do both though).

My husband lost 60 pounds counting calories and has kept it off for well over a year. He has an app on his phone from fatsecret.com and it's really easy to enter your meals and keep track. I would recommend that for sure.

    1. I have used that app in the past and it is awesome. I love that you can actually scan an item if it's not already in the database and it will give you all the information about it. I should probably start doing that again, because it was super helpful with making you really think about what you're eating.
I'm with you though. I really don't like to exercise, but I do feel really good after doing it. I've been going to my favorite park and walking the trails there, so hopefully I can keep that up!

  4. I hate exercising. I guess I stand and walk a lot when I am working, but I hate ACTUALLY exercising. Every time I start eating vegan again (I'm already 100% vegetarian) I lose weight more easily. There is still a ton of vegan junkfood though, so you have to watch out for that.
